Professional Bio

Dr. Fredrick Otieno Aoko, Esq. is a Kenyan lawyer who has specialized in resolving disputes through Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Professionally he is an active member of the New York Bar Association, a chartered arbitrator of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Ciarb,Kenya ),member of the International Commission of Jurists(ICJ, Kenya), a Certified International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) Adjudicator, Certified Professional Mediator, a Court Annexed Mediator (Judiciary of Kenya), a Certified Elder Mediator (Mediators’ Institute of Ireland and Elder Mediation International Network, Member London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) African User Council amongst other professional bodies.

In recognition of his immense contribution to Alternative Dispute Resolution, he badged holder of two honorary doctorates degrees from the European School of Management and leadership and a doctorate in laws in Alternative Dispute Resolution ,Honoris Causa (LLD, h.c) from the European International University. Fredrick holds a Bachelors of Law (LLB) from Mt. Kenya University, a Masters of Law (LLM) from University of Birmingham, Post graduates from Kenya School of Law, Harvard Law School and Brown University. He also has a unique interest in artificial intelligence holding certificates from Wenzhou State University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Before developing an interest in Law, he had been awarded a Bachelors in Information Science and a Masters in Information Systems from Kenyatta University. He is also a PHD candidate at the Monarch Business School Switzerland.

Prior to joining CPR, Fredrick served as a private mediator, arbitrator and ADR consultant based in Nairobi Kenya. He also served as certified mediator with the Judiciary of Kenya where he has an impressive record of successfully handling contentious and complex litigation briefs through mediation. He has supervised and mentored many young mediators in Kenya.
