Y-ADR Steering Committee Application
Apply to join the leadership group for Y-ADR: Young Leaders in Alternative Dispute Resolution
The Y-ADR Steering Committee is an international body composed of CPR member representatives from leading law firms and in-house legal departments as well as a select number of independent neutrals from around the world.
Due to great demand, the CPR Institute will open the application process earlier for the 2024 cycle.
Starting April 1, 2024, CPR will accept applications from candidates for several positions on the Y-ADR Steering Committee for the 2024 – 2027 cycle. CPR may consider applications from candidates who are not current CPR members but if selected, such applicants will be requested to join as members (see below for details).
Those selected will join the continuing members of the Y-ADR Steering Committee and will have the opportunity to select one or more working groups of interest where they will join other members to take the lead on organizing a Y-ADR program or DEI initiative.
Applications for the current cycle will open April 1, 2024 and close on June 30, 2024.
Accepted candidates will be notified in August and will begin a 3-year term running September 2024 though June 2027. (The Y-ADR Steering Committee traditionally takes a summer break and does not meet in July and August.)
The application process
The Y-ADR Steering Committee members are selected through a competitive vetting process. You must be an attorney or other professional 45 years old or younger or with less than 8 years of professional experience in international or domestic ADR practice or other areas of conflict prevention and resolution. While law and LLM students are eligible to be members of Y-ADR, they are not yet eligible to serve on the Steering Committee.
If you are interested in applying, please review the application information below:
- The application form includes several questions asking candidates to describe their background, interest in dispute prevention and resolution, and their ideas for furthering
Y-ADR’s mission. Candidate proposals should include either: a topic for a panel presentation that would be of interest to Y-ADR members, including potential speakers; or a way Y-ADR can help increase diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in the dispute prevention and resolution field.
- Candidates will indicate on their application form if their organization is a current Member of CPR Institute. If selected for the Y-ADR Steering Committee and your organization is not yet a CPR Member, you will be required to join CPR as an Individual Member at a special reduced rate for Y-ADR Steering Committee members.
- Candidates should be knowledgeable about their organization's history of engagement with CPR, if applicable, and be prepared to provide a brief summary on the application.
Applications for the current cycle will open April 1, 2024, and close on June 30, 2024.
