Knar Nahikian

Knar A. Nahikian, Esq. is a Director at the CPR Institute, the think tank side of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (“CPR”). In her role, she oversees CPR’s international programming and initiatives and serves as the liaison to the Y-ADR Steering Committee as well as CPR's international advisory boards in Brazil, Canada, and Europe.

Prior to joining CPR, Knar served as an independent Mediator, Arbitrator, and Neutral Facilitator based in New York City and she is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey. Formerly a litigation associate in the New York office of Loeb & Loeb LLP and then a manager overseeing insurance litigation at AIG, she founded Knar Law & ADR to pursue her passion for dispute resolution on a full-time basis. In addition to working with private clients at her practice, Knar also served as a court-appointed Mediator and Arbitrator on several New York local and federal court rosters and specialized in cases involving commercial, contract, insurance, employment, and international disputes.

Leveraging her training and experience as a New York State Certified Mediator and a Community Dispute Resolution Center-trained mediator and conflict coach, in her personal time, Knar enjoys serving as a mentor for new mediators and has led several initiatives to support new mediators and arbitrators, to diversify the Alternative Dispute Resolution community, and to advocate for wider use of dispute resolution and prevention, both domestically and internationally.

Knar is an active member of the New York State Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association (where she currently serves as Secretary of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee), and the Armenian Bar Association. She speaks English, Armenian, and French, and looks forward to supporting CPR’s members of all backgrounds as we work toward the goal of “Less Conflict. More Purpose.”
