Professional Bio
Born and educated in the United States, he is a dual US-France national, admitted in New York (1985), England and Wales (1995), Paris (1996) and Madrid (2000). He speaks and works in English, Spanish and French.
He started his legal career as judicial law clerk in the United States Court for the District of Connecticut, after obtaining a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law (Cum Laude) and a B.A. from Wesleyan University (Magna Cum Laude). He has a masters in Global Sports Law from Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía (ISDE).
He was for a decade a corporate associate and later Of Counsel in the New York and Paris offices of a leading global law firm. For the next two decades, he was partner of a leading Spanish boutique firm, based in Madrid, practicing principally in the area of international transactions and international dispute resolution (as counsel, arbitrator and mediator).
In the area of international commercial arbitration, he acts regularly as sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator and Chair in arbitral proceedings, both ad-hoc and administered He is Deputy Chairman of the Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) of the FIFA Football Tribunal, the leading internal judicial organ for contractual disputes in the sporting world.
He is rated as “Recommended Individual” in Arbitration in Chambers & Partners and European Legal, has received special distinction as “Most in Demand Arbitrator” in all Chambers & Partners Global Guide editions since 2009. Leaders League and Who’s Who Legal have described him as an “outstanding”, “extremely hard-working” and “highly respected and recognised practitioner”. In the field of mediation, he is considered in Who’s Who Legal as a “true multidisciplinarian.”
