Between Decision and Agreement: The Arbitrator, the Mediator, and Emotions in the Field of Conflict

This hybrid program will explore the intersection of emotions, law, and ADR, examining how each discipline approaches conflict and the individuals involved. The discussion will focus on the distinct roles of mediators and arbitrators, highlighting their differences and respective contributions to conflict resolution nowadays — whether psychological, legal, cultural, or interpersonal. Additionally, the event aims to define the boundaries of each role in addressing disputes.

Diego Faleck, founder of Faleck & Associados and Co-Chair of CPR's Brazilian Advisory Board and CPR's International Mediation Competition

Helen Winter, Founder and CEO of R3SOLUTE, mediator, lawyer and professor at Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution (Pepperdine Caruso School of Law)
