Join the CPR Mediation Committee for its first meeting of 2023!
The program will feature a discussion regarding the ethical implications and practical considerations when a mediator is asked to “switch hats” and serve as an arbitrator in the same dispute, whether in a med-arb or arb-med-arb context. Following a table-setting by CPR Vice President of Advocacy and Educational Ellen Waldman and CPR Mediation Committee Co-Chair Steve Bierman regarding key ethical principles and challenges presented by a request to “switch hats,” we hope to have a lively discussion in which attendees share their views, experiences, and ideas as to when and how such a change in roles may be workable (or not).
