Established in 1977, the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR) is an independent nonprofit organization that promotes the prevention and resolution of business-related conflict to better enable the pursuit of purpose through the CPR Institute (cpradr.org) and its subsidiary, CPR Dispute Resolution Services (drs.cpradr.org). The CPR Institute is a think tank which convenes its members - companies, law firms, academics, individual practitioners, and neutrals - to share best practices; network; develop tools for dispute management through committee discussions and projects, international initiatives, publications, education and training; and host programs of interest.  

Position Overview: 

This Coordinator of Events position will play a critical role in the success of the CPR Institute’s various public events. In addition to providing administrative support to the various internal stakeholders for planning and executing events, the Coordinator will be responsible for working with outside vendors and events coordinators to oversee event logistics. Additionally, the Coordinator will work with a team focused on organizing the Institute’s major annual fundraising gala.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities to support the activities of the Institute, including but not limited to: 

Large-Scale Events & Operations :

  • Serve as the key administrative contact for various events and conferences hosted by the organization (including off-site in-person events both domestically and abroad).  Collaborate with the various program leaders and the marketing team to execute all details. Support will include coordinating event logistics and post-event follow-up. 
  • Liaise regularly with members and vendors. Strong communication skills and a people-first attitude are key. 
  • Assist the CPR Institute and Operations teams with ad hoc projects, as needed.  
  • Assist with administering Continuing Legal Education certificates for conferences and events.  

Development :

  • Work closely with the organization’s development leader, external resources, and marketing team to support the annual fundraising gala. Support will include, but is not limited to, sponsor engagement, maintaining the event website page, event logistics, data collection, budgeting, invoicing, gift acknowledgements, and post-event follow-up.  
  • Assist with those leading development efforts in support of, but not limited to, the organization’s end of year Annual Appeal, including coordinating invoicing, implementing outreach strategy, and gift acknowledgments.  
  • Support for additional fundraising activities and events as to be determined.

  • Collaborative, adaptable and energetic team player who is proactive, uses independent judgment and initiative, and is a quick learner.  
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, including attention to detail and the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage a varied workload to meet deadlines.  
  • This is a front-facing role, and you will regularly be interacting with constituents outside of CPR. Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with colleagues and to exercise excellent judgment and discretion with external stakeholders, board members, and potential donors is key.  
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Suite Platforms including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. 
  • Experience with Zoom, Teams and other web conference services.  
  • Experience with Cvent (or other event management platforms), Novi (or other membership management software), and/or CRM systems or platforms, is a plus.  
  • Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and software is a plus.  
  • A four-year degree or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, is preferred.  

 Other Information: 

CPR’s work hours are 9:30 am – 5:30 pm Eastern, Monday through Friday. Evening and/or weekend work is rare but may occur during 2-3 peak time periods each year. 

This is a hybrid position, and incumbents will be expected to be present at our Manhattan office at least two days per week.

 This position involves occasional travel outside of the NYC metro area for major events, including but not limited to CPR’s Annual Meeting.

CPR will provide a laptop for business use.  

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and CPR reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, CPR or individual department/team performance, and market factors. 

The projected start date for this position is the end of April, but CPR will consider a later start time for an ideal candidate. 

Benefits: 

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $58,000 and $62,000 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors which may include but are not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including discretionary bonuses in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, financial and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, summer Fridays, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
