Yvette Ostolaza Joins CPR Board of Directors

Press Releases,

New York, NY – The International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR), a global non-profit organization that helps others manage conflict so that they might better pursue their purpose, is pleased to announce that Yvette Ostolaza, Chair of the Management Committee at Sidley Austin LLP, has joined the CPR Board of Directors.

CPR’s Board of Directors is comprised of thought leaders from a variety of backgrounds with a shared goal of preventing disputes and finding ways to resolve them more effectively and efficiently when they do arise.

“CPR’s leadership in the dispute management arena is second-to-none, and as a litigator, I’ve been a longtime supporter of CPR’s mission and purpose,” said Yvette Ostolaza, Sidley’s Management Committee Chair, “I have witnessed the positive impact of CPR’s work first-hand in my practice. Persistent global economic uncertainty and geopolitical turbulence drive more disputes and put corporate reputations at risk. I am eager to put my experience to work and collaborate with fellow CPR directors in advancing creative conflict resolution tools.”

Yvette Ostolaza is an experienced business litigator in complex multijurisdictional commercial disputes and corporate investigations. She litigates trial and appellate matters in U.S. state and federal courts. She is also an arbitrator on the rosters of CPR’s Panel of Distinguished Neutrals and the American Arbitration Association. Additionally, Ostolaza serves as the chair of Sidley Austin’s Management Committee and is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. She received a J.D. (magna cum laude) from the University of Miami School of Law and a B.A. (with honors) from the University of Miami.

“I am pleased to welcome Yvette to our Board of Directors. With her extensive experience as both a litigator and an arbitrator, she has a deep understanding of dispute management and resolution and will bring valuable hands-on experience to our organization,” said Helena Tavares Erickson, Acting CEO of CPR. “She will provide insightful input for our programs and services, as well as support for our mission of promoting less conflict and more purpose.”
