In recent years, renewable energy has become one of the fastest growing sectors of the global economy. The economic performance of a Renewable Energy project often relies on complex financial, regulatory, commercial, environmental, and other factors, making the sector ripe for disputes. This panel focused on the ways in which the “energy” market is growing outside of the traditional players – e.g., the energy automotive market with the growth of electric vehicles and hydrogen battery operated vehicles; LNG-to-power solutions; Apple’s recent investment in a Texas solar farm, wind farms. The panelists explained the incentives that are being put in place to encourage these new frontiers and the types of disputes that may arise.
