CPR Selects Verizon And Verizon Chief Legal Officer Vandana Venkatesh For Corporate Leadership Award
New York, NY – The International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR), a global non-profit organization that helps others manage conflict so that they might better pursue their purpose, announced that Verizon and Vandana Venkatesh, Executive Vice President & Chief Legal Officer for Verizon, will be the recipients of its 2025 Corporate Leadership Award for leadership in dispute prevention and resolution.
The award, presented annually since 2004, honors corporations and general counsel that have demonstrated commitment to the field of dispute management and have institutionalized dispute management mechanisms into their corporate culture.
As Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, Vandana Venkatesh is responsible and has oversight for all Legal and Corporate Security functions for Verizon. Before assuming this role in October 2022, she was Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of Verizon Consumer Group, which serves more than 100 million consumers evert day. She has been with Verizon for two decades.
Prior to joining Verizon, Venkatesh was a lawyer with Genuity and an Associate at the law firms of Morse, Barnes-Brown & Pendleton and Bingham Dana, where she was counsel to internet, high tech, and biotech startups. She earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. She also earned both a master’s and bachelor’s degree from the University of California – Los Angeles.

The award presentation will take place on May 29 at Guastavino’s in New York City. This annual dinner draws attendees representing leading companies and their general counsel and other company leadership, partners from global and boutique law firms, and industry experts and scholars who come together to acknowledge the importance of dispute prevention and resolution.
